Tax Credit

Currently, the State of Ohio allows you to support candidates such as myself while also providing you with a tax credit. The Ohio Political Contributions tax credit (Line 55 on your Ohio IT-1040) allows residents to take a dollar for dollar tax credit, up to $100 for joint filers and $50 for individuals, for contributions made to candidates running for State office. If you file jointly and send $100 to the Citizens to Elect John Patrick Carney Committee, you can reduce the tax you pay to the State of Ohio by $100!
